How do I add a substitute item to my order?

If a product is on back order or discontinued, and the supplier is offering a substitute, it cannot be added to the existing Purchase Order. Instead, it will have to be placed on a new order.

  1. Ask the supplier to cancel the back ordered/discontinued item on the existing Purchase Order.
  2. Cancel the item in uSOURCE (See Cancel an Order).
  3. Place a new order with the substitute item.
