Procurement Services is part of a larger purchasing community adhering to the policies and practices mandated by various governing bodies.

Ontario University Procurement Management Association (OUPMA)

The OUPMA promotes strategic supply, co-operative procurement and the ethical exchange of information between its members and affiliates. They share best practices, and utilize the strengths of the few to benefit the group as whole. Members meet twice annually to discuss such issues as provincial and federal tax regulatory issues, collaborative procurement opportunities, sustainability, changes in procurement strategies, technology and items unique to the educational environment.

Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace (OECM)

The Ontario Education Collaborative Marketplace (OECM) is a Broader Public Sector (BPS), not-for-profit group procurement organization, offering a Marketplace of competitively-sourced products and services available for use by Ontario’s publicly funded education institutions and other publicly funded organizations. The University of Toronto considers the use of OECM agreements, along with other available collaboratively sourced agreements, as needs are identified. Suppliers may register with OECM by visiting http://oecm.ca.

Canadian Association of University Business Officers (CAUBO)

Founded in 1937, CAUBO is a non-profit professional organization representing the interest of administrative and financial officers in Canadian universities and affiliated colleges. It is an umbrella organization for the many players in university administration. CAUBO’s mission is to promote and support the professional management and effective leadership in the administrative affairs of Canadian universities and colleges, and in doing so to help achieve the goals of the institutions we serve. CAUBO is supported by a vibrant community of volunteers. It offers a wide array of programs and services, including an information repository that is a source of choice on administrative issues for members, partners and decision makers in higher education.

The Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA)

With nearly 8,000 members working across the private and public sectors, SCMA is the principal source of supply chain training, education and professional development in the country. Through its 10 Provincial and Territorial Institutes, SCMA grants the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation, the highest achievement in the field and the mark of strategic supply chain leadership.

The Supply Chain Management Association is dedicated to serving the needs of the supply management practitioner and the business community by advancing the strategic value of supply management through:

The Canadian Professional Logistics Institute

The Logistics Institute is responsible for assessing and certifying the competence of Professional Logisticians and for accrediting and providing the professional development needed to earn such certification. Logistics includes:

  • The services involved with effective movement of materials and information from source to consumption
  • The process of managing the total supply chain to increase efficiency and best support your customers
  • The process team made up of functional specialists in purchasing, production planning/demand forecasting, inventory control, materials handling, warehousing, transportation, distribution, order processing, and customer service
  • The work ethic of getting the right product to the right place in the right condition at the right time and for the right price
  • The competitive strategy needed to meet customer demand. It is a determining factor in product/service design and market development

The Canadian Public Procurement Council

The Canadian Public Procurement Council (CPPC) supports the public procurement community across Canada by promoting dialogue, facilitating information exchange, developing approaches to common issues, and providing leadership for the resolution of shared problems.
